Recreation to Host Public Meeting for Proposed Adaptive Sports League Aug. 5

07/31/2019

Parish President Gordon E. Dove and Recreation Director Roddy Lerille announce a public meeting to gather information for Terrebonne Parish Recreation’s proposed adaptive sports league.

This league would feature modified sporting opportunities tailored to local special needs and disabled athletes.

Terrebonne Parish Recreation would also like to discuss and listen to guidance and feedback on the new pilot program “Buddy Ball” which would be offered September 2019. Buddy Ball will be a shortened and modified recreational T-Ball program offered to establish partnerships between Terrebonne Recreation, our current recreation players, our special friends, parents & guardians, the community, and volunteers who wish to become involved in a great quality of life program.

The meeting will be held Monday, August 5, 2019, at 6:00 PM in the old recreation office at 1192 Barrow Street.

Please RSVP to the Facebook event so that attendance can be estimated for handout purposes.

If you require special accommodations for the meeting, please email TPRec@tpcg.org with the accommodation needed using “Adaptive League Accommodation” as the subject, or send us a Facebook message on the Official Terrebonne Parish Recreation Page.

We are excited to explore special programs for special people and hope everyone interested in these programs can make the meeting to share ideas, needs, and feedback. We can’t wait to see you there!
