CHANGES & MODIFICATIONS TO 2020 SEASON

Athletes who are suffering from symptoms of COVID-19 or who currently have fever will not be allowed to participate. Thermal temperature checks may be randomly performed. Participants who have immediate family in their household that have tested positive or are in quarantine for COVID-19 should also quarantine and will not be allowed to participate.

All participants will be required to provide for their own hydration needs. Drinks/bottled water should be brought in a container with the participant’s name on it.  Water fountains and communal team coolers are not allowed under mandate and concession sales will not be open/allowed during practice times.

Due to the limits in place on indoor gatherings, only 1 parent/guardian will be allowed to accompany athletes to the gym and stay through practice. Any parent/guardian choosing to remain at practice will be required to social distance in the seating area and entry will require a face cover/mask the entire time the parent/guardian is inside the gym. There is no exemption to this requirement. Please consider this requirement when deciding to sign up the athlete. This will be updated as guidelines progress in the phased reopening schedule. Additional attendance limitations will also apply during scrimmage and game times depending on the reopening phase at the time of schedule.

No additional children, siblings, family members, or visitors will be allowed into the gym during practice. Players, coaches, and 1 parent will meet the limit on allowable attendance numbers. If any problems arise from this, practice will be cancelled, and the gym will be closed. This will be updated as guidelines progress in the phased reopening schedule.

All athletes ages 8 and older will be required to wear a face mask into and out of the building. Face masks will be required to be worn while communicating with the coach and receiving instruction prior to and following drills and practice. Athletes will be able to remove face masks for drills, practice, and recreational team time and should have a plastic Ziploc style bag with their name on it to safely store the mask on the bench while playing. Coaches will be required to wear an appropriate mask or face covering at all times.

Practice, drills, and instruction will take social distancing into consideration. Scrimmage and/or game schedules are not available at this time but will be updated as we progress. Practice will start mid-September 2020.

All in-person registrations will require a copy of the birth certificate. Past registrations will not be able to be looked up or verified.

During the online registration period, please pay with a credit/debit card. These type transactions allow us to refund the transaction if needed. Bank transfers, e-checks, prepaid cards, and other ACH transactions are not allowed to be credited by the financial institutions.

Safety of our athletes and their families is our number 1 priority. Your cooperation, communication, and patience is appreciated as we strive to get our kids back into sports while still respecting governmental orders and risks of this virus.

Thank You for supporting Terrebonne Parish Recreation!
