Terrebonne Parish Recreation Asks Residents to Bark for Your Park

08/03/2021

Terrebonne Parish Recreation has been selected as a finalist in the national PetSafe® "Bark for Your Park" dog park grant program. Terrebonne Parish is qualified for a chance to receive a grant to construct Terrebonne Parish's first safe and hygienic off-leash dog park.

Five finalists will be awarded a grant based on public vote of the qualified cities. Recreation is asking for your help in spreading the word about the potential funding and the need for votes to make this possible.

Vote for Terrebonne Parish in 3 simple steps:

  1. Click here to access the website.
  2. Vote for Terrebonne Parish/Houma, LA as your daily choice. Email is required.
  3. Share with friends, family, and social media to make sure that everyone votes.

Individuals can vote once per day per email address from August 3, 2021 to August 31, 2021. Every vote counts!

Recreation wants to be able to add a dedicated place for Terrebonne Parish residents and their furry friends, companions, and service animals to safely run, play, exercise, bond, and make new friends. Pavilions in this park would host training and health classes for pets and their owners. Recreation would also work with shelter and rescue organizations to offer adoption events.

Plans include separate small and large dog play areas, double gates for safe entry, puppy hydration fountains, agility stations, shaded rest areas, benches for human friends, and a dog wash.
