10/02/2018

TPR launched its fall sports season with the start of kids’ volleyball, football, and cheerleading this September. Youth excitement has been huge and is growing as the season continues. Here’s a recap of recent TPR sports events in Terrebonne Parish.

Volleyball

The girls’ volleyball league faced off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, at the Dularge, East Houma, and Lisa Park gyms. Approximately 30 teams took to the volleyball courts for a total of 21 friendly games from morning to afternoon. Almost 400 girls ages 7 through 14 have signed up to compete.

Football

The kids’ football league schedule kicked off its fall schedule with the TPR Football Jamboree at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, at the Terrebonne High School stadium. The jamboree featured 16 games in the league’s first scrimmage. This year, the rosters list nearly 700 kids ages 7 through 12 across 31 teams.

Cheerleading

The youth cheerleaders made their debut at the football jamboree on Saturday, September 22. Nine squads took to the field to pump up their teams and the audience. The squads’ roster includes 175 cheerleaders ages 7 through 12.
